Healing the Mortal Wound: The Resurrection of the Crucified
The most sobering reality is that we all come into this world mortally Wounded--exiled from Eden, far gone from Righteousness, Godforsaken. But this morning as we come to the tomb, we learn that Jesus of Nazareth, whom we thought was dead, has aquired a new title: The Crucified. He is the living and resurrected Crucified One--and because He has yielded himself to the darkest point of our Godforsakenness and raised it up--there is no depth of our Mortal Wound that he does not resurrect. We cannot undergo any loss, any pain, that He cannot in some way transform from Mortal Wound into Sacred Wounds. As we die with Him, so we will be raised with Him.
